This was shot at Moccasin Creek State Park where I imagined the heart of Milky Way would reflect on the Lake Burton below but nature knows how to run the show.
Two hours drive up north from Atlanta, the waning moon was still gleaming early at 2:00 AM. Everything else was bathed in countless stars of our Milky Way Galaxy. Breathing the damp mountain air, the Milky way begin to emerge at 2:30 AM. It was too close to the horizon and for 2 secs I thought it would be yet another fiasco. Be still my heart! After two hours of incredible madness and arguing with the dark lords the Milky Way arc rose up. At last, I had a victory dance once I snatched the vertical panels of the whole arc. The clouds begin to move in and I left the spot with a smile.
